Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the influence of the principal's leadership style and work motivation on teacher performance at SMP 24 Kernci. Teacher performance is an important factor in improving the quality of education, which is influenced by the principal's leadership and the teacher's level of work motivation. This study uses a quantitative approach with a type of causality research. The population in this study is all teachers and staff of SMP 24 Kerincii which totals 37 people, with data collection techniques using a Likert scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, validity and reliability tests, multiple linear regression, t-test, F test, and determination coefficients. The results of the study show that partially the leadership style of the principal has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, as well as work motivation has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. Simultaneously, the principal's leadership style and work motivation have a significant effect on the performance of teachers at SMP 24 Kerinci. The determination coefficient value showed that the teacher's performance was influenced by the principal's leadership style and work motivation by 85%, while the rest was influenced by other factors outside of this study. Keywords: leadership style; work motivation; Teacher Performance Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja guru di SMP 24 Kerinci. Kinerja guru merupakan faktor penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan, yang dipengaruhi oleh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah serta tingkat motivasi kerja guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian kausalitas. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru dan staf SMP 24 Kerinci yang berjumlah 37 orang, dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner skala Likert. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif, uji validitas dan reliabilitas, regresi linear berganda, uji t, uji F, serta koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru, demikian pula motivasi kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru. Secara simultan, gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan motivasi kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja guru di SMP 24 Kerinci. Nilai koefisien determinasi menunjukkan bahwa kinerja guru dipengaruhi oleh gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan motivasi kerja sebesar 85%, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar penelitian ini.
